Members of the public are invited to CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE MEETINGS State Project No. 0175-1618PL Connecticut Statewide Active Transportation Plan January 7-23, 2025 Stamford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, Norwich, and Torrington Find a meeting in your community: https://portal.ct.gov/ATP2026 The Active Transportation Plan evaluates existing conditions, identifies active transportation needs of state-owned roadways, and proposes recommendations for an equitable, operational, and safe active transportation network and supporting programs and policies. The project is comprised of three phases. The first phase is underway moving through spring 2025 and includes identifying existing active transportation condi- tions on state roads, such as presence of bicycle lanes, shared use paths, and side- walks; assessing the state's existing active transportation programs; and determining the statewide active transportation needs. The second phase includes development of proposed active transportation infrastructure improvements, prioritization of projects and potential funding sources, and recommendations for programs or poli- cies that can improve conditions for active transportation. This phase will continue through fall 2025, culminating in the third phase of publishing the Active Transpor- tation Plan in 2026. Public outreach will be conducted at all three phases to engage communities and gather feedback to inform the plan. The public and stakeholders can submit comments and questions throughout the project. Please submit comments and questions to DOT.Active Transportation Plan@ct.gov or (860) 594-2020. ACCESSIBILITY For those who can't attend any of the in-person meetings or wish to view the con- tent digitally can view a self-guided meeting at https://portal.ct.gov/ATP2026. Individuals with limited internet access may also request that project information be mailed to them within one week by contacting the project team at DOT.Active Transportation Plan@ct.gov or (860) 594-2020.
