BRING BACK THE QUALITY OF LIFE MAYORAL CANDIDATE JOSEPH CARFORA According to the statistics on file, the Town of East Haven has more than 5500 Ribbon Commission made up of people from every District in this community parents, educators, coaches, clergy, business people, doctors, clinicians, and yes, kids from East Haven, who can collaborate on what we can do as a Town to improve the quality of life for our children. Better schools, - Enhanced vocational programs, Broader after-school opportunities and programs that can help our kids to discover their talent and their voice and their passion for art, music, and sports. The challenges that our kids face are too complex for a quick fix like a new playground. That is why the Blue Ribbon will be charged with reporting back to me in short order, its recommendations. I have already publically committed one member of the Mayor's Staff as a Grant Writer, charged with the responsibility of securing funding to accomplish these goals. We owe this to our children. They are our future -they are the future of East Haven children between the ages of birth to 18 living here. While I am running on a platform of improving the quality of life in this Town, there can be no positive changes unless the quality of life for our children is improved. We can probably all agree that we want better for our children-better than we had ourselves. Isn't that what we all work toward and strive for -that our children do better, and be better than us? That's the American Dream. But we owe it to our children to do Wale everything we can so that they do better and that they be better than us. How do we do that? Improving the condition of a playing field as has been suggested, is a quick, easy fix, to a complex issue. I am looking at substantial long-term solutions that improve the quality of life for our kids. What I propose is the following: Within ninety (90) days of my election as Mayor, that I convene a Bi-Partisan Blue ATTENTION! CONCERNED CITIZENS OF FOXON A meeting is scheduled to discuss the proposed zone change of Sperry Lane, formerly Girls Scout Camp Murray. Joe Carfora!
