E.C. Scranton Memorial Library & the Madison Historical Society present Preserve & Protect a lecture series dedicated to the historic preservation of Madison October 20 Preservation at Hammonasset Beach State Park September 15- Madison's Farmlands & Farming Practices at Field House Farm Ranger Russ Miller will teach attendees about the history of Hammonasset Beach State Park and the ongoing restoration and preservation of the marshes, wetlands, and dunes. These efforts ensure the beach will be enjoyed by generations to come. Stephanie Lesnik of Madison's Field House Farm, LLC will explain the farm's history and practices in restoring and preserving their 1720 farmhouse, land, and techniques. Her mission is to educate and refamiliarize community members with their food. Lectures begin at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church's Hubley Hall. Free and open to all.
