Scranton Memorial Library &the Madison Historical Society present Preserve & Protect a lecture series dedicated to the historic preservation of Madison August 18- Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places September 15- Madison's Farmlands & Farming Practices at Field House Farm October 20 Preservation at Hammonasset Beach State Park Celebrate Connecticut's building legacy with author historian, and deputy director of the Connecticut Trust Ranger Russ Miller will teach attendees about the history of Hammonasset Beach State Park and the ongoing restoration and preservation of the marshes, wetlands, and dunes. These efforts ensure the beach will be enjoyed by generations to come Stephanie Lesnik of Madison's Field House Farm, LLC will explain the farm's history and practices in restoring and preserving their 1720 farmhouse, land, and techniques. Her mission is to educate and refamiliarize community members with their food. for Historic Preservation Christopher Wigren. He will discuss the release of his new book "Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places." His talk for us will have a special focus on Madison Lectures begin at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church's Hubley Hall. Free and open to all.
