Founded in 1971, the Red Barn Children's Center is one of the shoreline's oldest early education centers. Following a developmental approach, the program allows children the freedom of choice and individual expression. The following areas are included: Creative art and music Dramatic play Food preparation and cooking Language and literacy experiences Symbol awareness: colors, shapes, letters, and numbers Sensory activities and projects Science and nature study Small muscle and large muscle coordination Socializing, sharing, and understanding social organization Music, language, and movement programs Field trips for early education participants Pre-k readiness Bunny Program: 7 weeks to 2 years Early Education: 3 year (preschool) to 4 (pre-kindergarten) Before and after care for school age children: 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m Summer Program Full or half-day programs June -August, ages 3.5 through 3rd grade.
