Members of the public are invited to CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION VIRTUAL PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING State Project No. 0414-0073 SEAT Facility Expansion Preston April 28, 2025 6:00 p.m. Register: portal.ct.gov/DOTPreston0414-0073 The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed im- provements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation. The purpose of this project is to support the Southeast Area Transit District (SEAT)'s transition to a sustainable, efficient and accessible transit system by expanding the current facility for the administra- tion, operation, maintenance, and storage of an all-electric fleet. The project includes the design and construction of a new 52,000-sf indoor charging and storage area for electric buses and paratransit vehicles, including an administrative & operational area, and the construction of solar panels as a power source to the facility. Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated. Construction is expected to start in spring 2027, depending on funding. right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is $50 mil- lion, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds The public can submit comments and questions during two-week public comment period following meeting.
