About

The Southeast Connecticut World Affairs Council (SECWAC) is a member of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA). The mission of the Southeast Connecticut World Affairs Council (SECWAC) is to foster an understanding of issues of foreign policy and international affairs through study, debate, and educational programming. SECWAC’s principal activity is to sponsor a Speakers Series of 8 to 10 monthly meetings annually. Through the Series, we achieve our mission by providing a forum for nonpartisan, non-advocacy dialogue between our members and U.S. policymakers and other experts on foreign relations. The Board of Directors of SECWAC is a volunteer organization committed to hosting the widest possible range of views while advocating none. By maintaining a reputation for impartiality, we facilitate serious and civil debate and discussion on issues that bear directly on the United States of America’s vital global interests.
