Independence Physical Therapy opened for business September 5, 2005 in a space that used to be the town pharmacy in downtown Ledyard CT. Due to the scheduled demolition of the building, IPT swiftly moved to a temporary worksite trailer, operating with one therapist and one administrative assistance to answer the phone and schedule patients, while waiting for its present site to be finished. IPT moved to its current Mystic location in April of 2007 and has rapidly grown over the past 7 years largely due to, much appreciated, patient and doctor referrals, creative marketing, and of course great patient care. We now have two locations, Mystic and Uncasville/Montville, to better accommodate our patients. Furthermore, as a result of the business levels increasing substantially we have hired additional staff and we’ve enhanced the gym (Medically Oriented Gym “MOG”) with all of the latest rehab equipment (including “WII-HAB”). Independence Physical Therapy strives to build a cohesive team, from the admin staff to the therapist, to meet the needs of the individuals in the community, through effective high-quality therapy, while providing a personal touch to each and every patient!
