PAID ADVERTISEMENT M Together, We Make a Difference: A Story of Generosity and Community In Madison, where neighbors help neighbors, Madison Community Services (MCS) values its partnerships that profoundly impact local families. Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) has been one of our most essential collaborators for 15 years, contributing over $250,000 to provide crucial personal care items for those in need. Madison is known for its spirit of giving-a community where acts of kindness range from small, daily gestures to significant, life-altering support. MCS has been a grateful beneficiary of this spirit for nearly a century, and today, it's partnerships like these that keep our doors open, shelves stocked, and hearts connected across the community. Neighbor to Neighbor: A Lifeline for 15 Years Fifteen years ago, N2N began collaborating with MCS at a transformative time when our pantry expanded from a small closet to a comprehensive commu- nity resource. As MCS addressed Madison's growing food needs, N2N stepped up to provide personal care items-often overlooked but vital for our client's well-being. Over the years, this support has grown in value and scope, with N2N coordinating weekly Homebound Delivery Volunteers for those unable to visit the pantry. This program has recently been integrated into MCS, solidifying N2N's foundational role in our service delivery. An Unexpected Angel: Gordon's Gift of Rent After MCS moved to a commercial space, we spoke at a local civic organization. Asked what we wished for, volunteer Margaret Diglio said, "Someone to pay our rent." Four days later, Gordon Gregoretti called, offering to cover our rent, which allowed us to focus on serving clients and alleviating operational concerns. Honoring a Legacy: The Pauline Baldwin Food Pantry The support from the Madison Lions Club and the Pauline Baldwin Fund has been pivotal. Initiated by a generous bequest from Pauline Baldwin, a local resi- dent, this fund has supported our Food Basket Program for years. In 2018, the Baldwin Fund was transferred to MCS. In recognition of Pauline's lasting impact, we renamed our food pantry the Pauline Baldwin Food Pantry-a lasting tribute to her dedication to ensuring no one in Madison goes hungry. A Community of Supporters: Thank You to Our Partners Our work is supported weekly by dedicated volunteers who assist families with compassion, stocking shelves, guiding clients through shopping, and loading essentials. Additionally, we receive tremendous support from civic groups, local businesses, churches, schools, and emergency services, including police, EMTs, and the fire department, as well as from numerous youth groups. These combined efforts make it possible for MCS to make a meaningful difference. Supporting a Legacy of Care As we look to the future, we are continuously inspired by the generosity that fuels our mission. Our Annual Giving Drive invites the community to join this circle of care. Donations can be made by visiting our website at meset.org, using the provided QR code, or sending contributions to PO BOX 148, Madison, CT. Every contribution strengthens our ability to serve families with dignity, compassion, and hope, ensuring that no one in Madison goes without.
