How ever, we as humans evolve, and knowing better means doing better. The world is shifting, and the rise of woman entrepreneurs have started to shine a light on how achieving success doesn't have to look the same for everyone. My 18 years of experience as a woman in business alongside my spouse Jeff at UPS stores in Clinton and Guilford have taught me a lot. I have learned that women in busi- ness not only empower other women, but also offer a better way of practicing business that is far from the "good ole" boys' club." Despite the stereotypes women entrepre- neurs face daily, there are ways to overcome them and empower others to lift everyone to the next level. This knowledge led me to open Tranquil Balance Massage and Float Center seven years ago. Working in a predominantly women's field, I quickly experienced a sense of belong- ing, strength, and gratitude. More importantly, I realized the advantage of women in business. For many women, their priorities are divided between work and family. Rath- er than having to choose between the two, women can take care of their home and also have the business acumen to be successful entrepreneurs. The argument can be made that the attention to detail, organization, and time man- agement from at-home matters contribute to the foundation of what's needed to start a business from nothing and turn it into a successful entity. A work-life balance teaches a person to be more organized. Time, money, and resources are handled with care. When those pieces are in place, the business becomes more streamlined and profitable. Women also tend to have an innate ability to listen. The ability to listen is truly valu- able overlooked. Listening helps to form better con and stronger relationships, and in business it makes whatever services or products you're offering your audience become a better fit. I learned early on at Tranquil Balance that if you are As an entrepreneur, seeing the problems or opportunities in your business can be difficult when you are in the thick of things. Encouraging others to share their ideas and opinions is an important quality assurance measure to help determine where changes can be made. In the past seven years, I was very fortunate to help others succeed on their own paths to business. So far, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to meet, hire, and groom three amazing women.
